Danastri Njoto, founder and group CEO of OMA Global
Danastri Njoto
Danastri Njoto, also known as Dan Njoto, is a Singapore-based entrepreneur and the Founder and Managing Director of OMA Global Pte. Ltd. He has spent more than two decades building businesses around a recurring idea: making it easier for entrepreneurs, businesses, and property owners to turn concepts into physical, commercially viable spaces.
Dan began his entrepreneurial journey in 2004 with INQBOX, a “Retail-in-a-Box” concept that created accessible retail opportunities for emerging entrepreneurs and brands, drawing international and regional media attention. He went on to develop ventures spanning retail, technology, international trade, manufacturing, and property, including FUNDO, a tech venture shortlisted at Web Summit 2018, and Medico Titan, which operated in the PPE and medical-supply sector during COVID-19.
Today, Dan leads OMA Global, a Singapore-headquartered company focused on the design, manufacturing, and deployment of modular buildings and rapidly deployable spaces.
From “Retail-in-a-Box” to “Building-out-of-a-Box”
OMA extends the philosophy Dan started exploring more than 20 years ago. With INQBOX, the question was how to make opening a physical retail business simpler and more accessible. With OMA, the question has grown larger: how to make creating physical space itself simpler, faster, and more accessible — anywhere in the world.
Under Dan’s leadership, OMA develops factory-manufactured modular spaces that can be transported and rapidly assembled on site, spanning compact commercial spaces and hospitality cabins to expandable homes, accessory dwelling units, resorts, and larger modular developments.
Rather than treating modular construction as simply the manufacture of prefabricated buildings, he sees it as a platform for transforming an idea into usable physical space — reflected in OMA’s guiding proposition:
Concept to Spaces. Delivered. Building the OMA Ecosystem
Dan founded OMA Global Pte. Ltd. in Singapore in 2024 to build an international ecosystem around modular construction and rapidly deployable real estate, developed through three complementary pillars:
-
OMA.haus — design, manufacturing, and international distribution of modular cabins, expandable houses, ADUs, and other rapid-build spaces.
-
OMAstay — applies OMA’s modular building system to hospitality, including resorts, retreats, and alternative accommodation concepts.
-
OMAverse — explores technology-enabled models around real estate participation, ownership, and the broader digital ecosystem surrounding physical OMA developments.
Together, these reflect Dan’s broader vision of connecting manufacturing, property, hospitality, and technology, rather than treating modular construction purely as a building product.
Designing for a Global Market
From its Singapore headquarters, Dan has built OMA as an internationally deployable business, working with manufacturing partners and supply chains in China and Europe while developing projects, distributor relationships, and market opportunities across multiple regions.
Under his direction, OMA’s product range has grown from individual modular cabins into flat-packed modular structures, expandable houses, mobile spaces, hotel accommodation, and multi-storey modular building systems. His approach combines centralized engineering and factory production with localized deployment, adapting products to different climates, applications, and regulatory environments.
An Entrepreneurial Philosophy Built Around Access
A common thread throughout Dan’s career has been reducing the barrier between an idea and its physical execution. In 2004, that meant helping entrepreneurs access retail space. Today, through OMA, he applies the same principle to buildings themselves — a hotel room manufactured, a backyard turned into a workspace, an empty site transformed into a resort.
Modular manufacturing enables that transformation to happen faster, more efficiently, and at greater scale than many conventional approaches.
For Dan, the evolution from “Retail-in-a-Box” to “Building-out-of-a-Box” represents more than a shift between industries. It is the continuation of an entrepreneurial philosophy he has pursued for more than two decades: making physical space easier to create, faster to deploy, and accessible to more people.
Today, he brings that same mindset to OMA Global, developing practical solutions that can make a meaningful difference in how people live, work, travel, and build businesses.
As Dan puts it:
“I have always loved creating products and solutions that positively impact people’s lives.”
It is a belief that has shaped his journey so far, and continues to guide what he builds next.
